Kestrel Nest Box workshop

Saturday, September 26, 2015 - 10:00am to 3:00pm
Rogers Island Visitor Center - Fort Edward, NY

Join Friends of the Washington County Grasslands IBA on Saturday, September 26 for a fun hands-on workshop where you will build an American Kestrel nest box. New York State DEC wildlife biologist Marcelo delPuerto will brief you on a project to restore our smallest falcon species to a healthy breeding population  and provide instruction on building and monitoring the nest boxes. The boxes you build will (hopefully) become future homes for families of American Kestrels. We will head out into the field after lunch to learn about site selection and installation. Adirondack Wildlife Refuge & Rehab Center will release a rehabbed kestrel during the field portion of the workshop. Fee of $35 includes catered lunch and all materials for nest box. Location:
