Grassland Breeding Birds in the IBA

Saturday, June 4, 2016 - 7:30am
Washington County Grasslands IBA

Join Friends of the IBA for a guided bird walk and tour in the Washington County Grasslands to look for and listen to breeding songbirds.  An avian chorus awaits, from the flute-like trill of the meadowlarks to the cheerful burbling of Bobolinks to the songs, trills, and twitters of dozens of other species that call the IBA home!  Likely sightings include meadowlarks, bluebirds, Bobolinks, Savannah sparrow, American kestrel, Northern harrier, Red-tailed hawk, orioles, warblers, mockingbirds, thrashers and more.  We've recorded over 50 species in previous years.  We'll visit Friends of the IBA's Alfred Z. Solomon Grassland Bird Viewing Area to check out our new Viewing Blind and see what's hopping, flying and soaring...  Group size limited; Call Rich to register at 623-2587.  FEE: $10, Free to Members.
