The site offers premier viewing of kestrels, harriers, hawks and breeding grassland songbirds, including Bobolinks, Savannah sparrows and Eastern meadowlarks. It’s also one of the best sites in the IBA for viewing wintering Short-eared and Snowy owls!

Try out viewing scopes and binoculars to see what birds are around. Learn about New York’s endangered, threatened and at risk grassland birds and grasslands ecology. Pick up a free handout about managing your land for grassland birds and free grassland bird fact card for kids. Gorden Ellmers will be giving tips on how to get the best bird photo. Refreshments available.
