Washington County Grasslands Bird Walk & Tour

Join Friends of the IBA Director Laurie LaFond and avid birder Rich Speidel to see and learn about grassland breeding birds! 

We’ll visit FIBA’s Alfred Z. Solomon Grassland Bird Viewing Area, NYS DEC’s Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and other sites nearby.  Likely sightings include Northern harriers, American kestrels, bluebirds, meadowlarks, Bobolinks, Savannah sparrows, Red-tailed hawks and dozens more!  Grasshopper sparrow and Orchard oriole possible.  Combined walk and tour; walk optional.

Friends of the IBA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit land trust conserving critical habitat for New York’s endangered and at-risk grassland birds.  Your support will help ensure that these amazing birds do not disappear from New York State!
